Appendix 403. Airport.

  • Is an area of land or water which is used or intended for use for the landing and takeoff of aircraft, and any appurtenant areas which are used, or intended for use, for airport building or other airport facilities or rights-of-way, together with all airport buildings and facilities located thereon. This includes any airport, heliport, helistop, vertiport, gliderport, seaplane base, ultralight flightpark, manned balloon launching facility, or other aircraft landing or takeoff area.

    A)

    Public use airport - as defined by Section 503(17) of the Airport and Airway Improvement Act of 1982 means:

    a.

    Any public airport;

    b.

    Any privately owned reliever airport; and

    c.

    Any privately owned airport which is determine by the Secretary of the FAA to enplane annually two thousand five hundred (2,500) or more passengers and receive scheduled passenger service of aircraft.

    B)

    Private use airport - means:

    a.

    All other airports not defined as public use airport.
