Appendix 471. Yard.

An open space on the same lot with the principal building, open, unoccupied, and unobstructed by buildings.
471.1 Front yard. The area extending across the entire width of the lot between the front line and the nearest part of the principal building.

471.2 Side yard. The area extending along the side lot line from the front yard to the rear lot line and lying between the side lot line and the required setback line.

471.3 Rear yard. The yard extending across the rear of the lot between the rear property line and the nearest part of the principal structure (excluding side yards).
