Appendix 731. Agricultural Ranchettes District (AG6).

  • Intent. The Agricultural Ranchettes (AG6) District is intended to provide opportunities to locate and develop single-family site-built homes on parcels two (2) acres or greater upon which the property owner desires to conduct farming activities for personal pleasure and/or leisure. No commercial farming activities are allowed. The raising and care of swine is prohibited in this district.

    731.1. Permitted Uses.

    (A)

    Accessory farm uses, such as sheds, barns, lean-tos, shelters, cribs, stables, silos, grain bins, etc.

    (B)

    Accessory residential uses, such as a detach garage, storage shed, workshop, etc.

    (C)

    Churches, synagogues, temples, and other places of worship subject to the provisions of Article 12.

    (D)

    Public and semi-private cemeteries subject to the provisions of Article 12.

    (E)

    Single-family, site built residence.

    731.2. Conditional Uses.

    (A)

    Raising, handling, and care of animals and livestock provided that:

    1.

    A residence shall be located upon the parcel;

    2.

    Such use is located on a lot of not less than one and one-half (1½) acres;

    3.

    Stables, shelters, manure piles, pits or bins shall meet a sixty (60) feet front setback, a twenty-five (25) feet side setback, and a forty (40) feet rear setback;

    4.

    If adjacent to any other residential district, any fence used to enclose the horses shall meet a minimum setback of twenty (20) feet from the property line abutting any other residential zoning district; and

    5.

    The boarding facilities may not be utilized for commercial purposes.

    (B)

    Accessory living quarters in conformance with the requirements of Article V, Section 509.
