  • Intent. The Boating/Marine Commercial (BO1) District is intended to provide opportunities to locate and develop businesses that rely on the ocean, rivers, and streams for their operations. Such businesses may have negative impact on the adjacent community due to odors and noise; therefore; careful consideration should be exercised before permitting such uses adjacent to existing residential developments.

    735.1. Permitted Use[s].

    (A)

    Accessory uses that are subordinate and incidental to any permitted use below and on-site signage in accordance to the provisions of Article 10.

    (B)

    Aqua farms, fisheries/hatcheries and associated uses necessary for packaging and shipping.

    (C)

    Bait and tackle shops.

    (D)

    Boat construction, repair, refinishing, docks/landings, sales/rentals, and dry dock storage facilities.

    (E)

    Boat docks.

    (F)

    Commercial fishing and the activities necessary to prepare the "catch" for transportation to another area.

    (G)

    Harbors/marinas, piers/wharves.

    (H)

    Marine navigation aid construction businesses/facilities.

    (I)

    Seafood preparation and packaging facilities.

    (J)

    Seafood shops or markets.

    (K)

    Structures with multiple marine-commercial businesses under a single roof.

    (L)

    Churches, synagogues, temples, and other places of worship subject to the provisions of Article 12.
