Appendix 1302. Application for building or sign permit.

  • (A)

    All applications for building permits shall be accompanied by plans in duplicate drawn to scale, showing the actual dimensions and shapes of the lot(s) to be built upon. The exact sizes and locations of existing buildings, if any, and the location and sizes of proposed buildings or alterations to occur on the property shall be shown on the plan. Accessory structures, such as greenhouses, open sheds, tobacco/bulk barns, packhouses, electric water pump sheds used in connection with a bona fide agriculture use within the LFA, FA, or CFA zoning districts do not need to be shown on the plan or met the minimum structure spacing requirements of this ordinance; however; shall meet the exterior setbacks of the zoning district. The application shall include such other information as lawfully may be required by the Zoning Administrator, including existing or proposed uses of the buildings and land; the number of families, housekeeping units, or rental units existing on the lot; and such other matters as may be necessary to determine conformance with, and provide for the enforcement of this ordinance.

    (B)

    All applications for sign permits shall be accompanied by plans in duplicate drawn to scale, showing the actual dimensions and shapes of that portion of the lot(s) to be built upon. When a permit for an off-site sign is submitted, such plans shall show the exact location and size of the sign to be constructed or altered in relation to the property lines and when applicable the following:

    1)

    The distance between the nearest existing off-premises sign and the proposed sign location as required by Section 1010(b) of these regulations;

    2)

    An indication that the proposed sign is no closer than one thousand (1,000) feet from the right-of-way line of the Veteran's Highway (Conway By-pass) and/or one thousand (1,000) feet from the centerline of either the Carolina Bays Parkway or Central Parkway. When such proposed sign is within one thousand (1,000) feet of the roadways as mentioned above, the exact distance between the proposed sign and the roadway mentioned above shall be provided;

    3)

    Any church or place or worship, cemetery, public or private school, or public park within three hundred (300) feet of the proposed sign location;

    4)

    Any signalized intersection for two (2) or more streets within two hundred (200) feet of the proposed sign location;

    5)

    Any bridge abutment, measured linearly, that is within six hundred (600) feet of the proposed sign location; and

    6)

    Any structure located within a fifty (50) foot radius of the proposed sign location.

    The application shall include such other information as lawfully may be required by the Zoning Administrator, including existing or proposed uses of the buildings and land; the number of families, housekeeping units, or rental units existing on the lot; and such other matters as may be necessary to determine conformance with, and provide for the enforcement of this ordinance.

    (C)

    One copy of the plans shall be returned to the applicant by the Zoning Administrator after he shall have marked such copy either as approved or disapproved and attested to the same by his signature on such copy. The original copy of the plans, similarly marked, shall be retained by the Zoning Administrator.
