§ 10.5-27. Licensing of haulers.

  • (a)

    Hauler shall not collect or haul acceptable waste generated within the boundaries of the county without first obtaining an annual license therefor as provided herein. The county by and through the SWA shall issue hauler's licenses. Governmental entities such as municipalities, state agencies, etc. are exempt from obtaining the annual hauler's licensing.

    (b)

    All licenses issued from the effective date of Ordinance No. 02-09 through June 30, 2010 shall expire on June 30, 2010 unless revoked or suspended pursuant to section 10.5-28. All subsequent licenses shall expire on June 30 of each year unless revoked or suspended pursuant to section 10.5-28. All renewal licenses shall be applied for by June 30 of each year, and if granted, will be effective on July 1 of each year.

    (c)

    Any person wishing to obtain a hauler's license shall present a written application therefor on a form provided by the SWA. No fee will be charged for licenses granted during the implementation year of this chapter; however, county council reserves the right to set an application fee by subsequent resolution.

    (d)

    All licensed haulers shall comply with such rules, regulations, policies, and fees as the county council may adopt from time to time by resolution; failure to comply with such rules, regulations, policies, and fees shall be a violation of this chapter.
