§ 14-14. Commercial activity prohibited at public boat landings and other property open to the general public owned by Horry County.

  • It shall be unlawful for any person, organization, society, association or corporation, or any agent, member or representative thereof, directly or indirectly, to solicit business of any kind; to conduct any sales or rental business; to sell or offer to sell any article, good, or other thing of value; at public boat landings and on other property open to the general public owned by Horry County.

    (a)

    The transportation of jet skis, boats or any other item available for sale or rent across a county-owned public boat landing or public access is prohibited.

    (b)

    It shall be unlawful to store any item of property at county-owned boat landings that is available for sale or rental.

    (c)

    It shall be unlawful to conduct commercial tours, including, but not limited to, sightseeing and fishing tours from county-owned boat landings, or to park vehicles at a county-owned boat landing while participating in a commercial tour.

    (d)

    This section shall not apply to commercial activities conducted under a lease or franchise granted by the county council, or a temporary use permit or license of limited duration (not to exceed seven (7) consecutive days) issued by the County Administrator or his/her designee, or to property within the County's airport system under Space Use Permits the form of which have been approved by county council.
