§ 3-1. Taxi, limousine and ground transportation vehicles and operators on premises of the Myrtle Beach Jetport.
(a)
Application. This section applies to all operators of motor vehicles for hire at the airport.
(b)
Written agreement required in order to transact business. From the effective date of this section, it shall be unlawful and a misdemeanor for the operator of any private or commercial vehicle to solicit business, ridership or passengers for hire on airport premises, except pursuant to a written agreement with the county.
(c)
Entering, parking or stopping on airport terminal roadway. From and after the date of this section, it shall be unlawful and a misdemeanor for any private or commercial vehicle to enter, park or stop in the airport terminal roadway other than: (1) To discharge passengers; or (2) to pick up passengers pursuant to an agreement with the county or a prearranged contract with a specific passenger at a location designated by the director of airports to pick up ground transportation passengers.
(d)
Soliciting ridership. From and after the date of this section, it shall be unlawful and a misdemeanor for any private or commercial vehicle operator to solicit ridership from, honk its horns at, accost, or yell at persons at the airport, or to otherwise attract attention to the operator of said vehicle while on airport property.
(e)
Enforcement. The director of airports and the county police are hereby authorized and ordered to enforce the provisions of this section by issuing citations to those persons found to be in violation of the provisions hereof.
(f)
Penalty. The penalty for violations of the provisions hereof shall be one hundred dollars ($100.00).
