Appendix 519. Toxic materials or waste.

Any material (in gaseous, liquid, solid, particulate, or any other form) which is capable of causing injury to living organisms, chemical reactions, or detrimental effects on the social, economic or psychological well-being of individuals.
(A)

Toxic materials may be used and/or stored in Heavy and Limited Industrial Zoning Districts as long as all activities are conducted in strict accordance with DHEC regulations.

(B)

Use or storage of toxic materials in any other zoning district must be approved by the Planning Commission. Decisions will be based on the potential threat to public safety.

(C)

Toxic chemicals used for pest control and other agricultural activities are permitted in FA Districts and on golf courses when those chemicals are supervised and applied by a licensed operator.
