Appendix 729. Agricultural Estate District (AG4).

  • Intent. The Estate (AG4) District is intended to provide an environment for single-family, site built residential development in which farming activities are allowed for the pleasure and/or leisure of the residents. No commercial farming activities are allowed. The raising and care of swine is prohibited in this district.

    729.1. Permitted Uses.

    (A)

    Accessory farm uses, such as sheds, barns, lean-tos, shelters, cribs, stables, silos, grain bins, etc.

    (B)

    Accessory residential uses, such as a detach garage, storage shed, workshop, etc.

    (C)

    Churches, synagogues, temples, and other places of worship subject to the provisions of Article 12.

    (D)

    Growing, maintaining and harvesting of crops, tree, orchards/arbors, and vineyards.

    (E)

    Public and semi-private cemeteries subject to the provisions of Article 12.

    (F)

    Single-family site built home.

    729.2. Conditional Use.

    (A)

    Farm animals (equine, bovine, poultry, fowl and ruminants) are permitted within the Estates district, provided the following requirements are met:

    1.

    There is a residence on parcel the upon which the animals will be located;

    2.

    The parcel meets the minimum lot area of five (5) or more acres;

    3.

    The property shall not be used as an animal(s) facility for commercial production nor shall the boarding facilities be utilized for commercial purposes;

    4.

    Swine are not to be permitted;

    5.

    The stable, shelter, pits or bins for the above livestock shall meet a one hundred (100) feet front setback, a twenty-five (25) feet side setback, and a twenty-five (25) feet rear setback. Residue from cleaning the stall or shelter must also meet these required setbacks.

    (B)

    Accessory living quarters in conformance with the requirements of Article V, Section 509.
