  • Intent. The Inpatient Medical Services (ME1) District is intended to provide opportunities to locate and develop businesses providing services that meet general medical needs (inpatient and outpatient) of the public. Uses in this district are generally concentrated into a single area, such as a downtown or along a major transportation corridor, where location advantages are realized.

    740.1. Permitted Uses.

    (A) Accessory uses that are subordinate and incidental to any permitted use below and on-site signage in accordance to the provisions of Article 10
    (B) Blood banks and donor centers
    (C) Churches, synagogues, temples, and other places of worship subject to the provisions of Article 12
    (D) Dialysis centers
    (E) Emergency medical centers, freestanding
    (F) General and specialized doctor's offices and clinics such as dentists, chiropractors, optometrists, podiatrists; except drug and alcohol treatment centers Business types defined in SIC 8011, 8021, 8031 8041, 8042, 8043, and 8049 (except uses that dispense prescription drugs on-site)
    (G) Hospitals, except psychiatric
    (H) Medical and dental labs Business types as defined in SIC 8071, 8072
    (I) Nursing and personal care facilities (such as nursing homes and continuing care facilities) All business types as defined in SIC 805
    (J) Outpatient surgery centers
    (K) Plasmapheresis centers
    (L) Public and semi-private cemeteries subject to the provision of Article 12
